Welcome
XTones creates direct amp captures for TONEX Profiles and TONEX Presets.
All amplifiers are captured with the use of a Fryette Power Station Variable Reactive Load, and the TONEX Capture Box. We take the utmost care in ensuring our TONEX Profiles and TONEX Presets represent the amp as captured. Furthermore, there’s no “close enough” mentality here. It either is a spot on TONEX Profile or it gets run again, subsequently resulting in a great base for you to build your own amazing-sounding TONEX Presets.

Friedman JJ Jr. Direct Captures

17 Direct Captures of the Friedman JJ Jr. 20-watt amplifier. These TONEX Presets run the gamut from clean to seriously mean! All TONEX profiles were created with the use of a Fryette Power Station Reactive Load and a TONEX Capture interface. This amp and the resulting TONEX Presets react really well to guitar volume knob changes.
If you play thru the TONEX App, be sure you are using a Hi-Z/ Instrument input on your interface with no additional gain trim added or subtracted, for the most accurate reproduction of these TONEX Profiles.

I have found the ToneNet audio samples to not be the best indicator of what our XTones TONEX Profiles actually sound like. Below are clips that use the exact TONEX Presets from the bundle loaded into the TONEX Pedal. The only exception is I added a taste of delay to the Lead Guitar clip, other than that there is no additional processing added to the clips.
1985 Marshall 2203 JCM 800
w/2008 Friedman BE Mod

16 Direct captures of a 1985 2203 Marshall JCM 800 with a 2008 Rack Systems (Dave Friedman) BE Mod that added a Gain Trim Pot and a Depth control. The amp uses JJ E34L Power tubes, Vintage Groove Tube Tungsram 7025 Preamp tubes and a Matched Phase inverter tube. All TONEX profiles were created with the use of a Fryette Power Station Reactive Load and a TONEX Capture interface.
This is a great amp for that classic Rock/Hard Rock sound of the early ’80s. At its cleanest setting, it gets a great AC/DC-ish Crunch Rhythm tone. At the Hi-Gain settings you start getting those great Hard Rock tones the JCM 800 is legendary for.
If you play thru the TONEX App, be sure you are using a Hi-Z/ Instrument input on your interface with no additional gain trim added or subtracted, for the most accurate reproduction of these TONEX Profiles.

We are also planning on doing a number of other TONEX Profiles of vintage and modern Fender, Marshall, Bogner, EVH, Mesa and Peavey amps, and making TONEX Presets bundles available of them.
